The Bruce Jennings Porsche 911S Heads for Amelia Island Concours |
Riviera Beach, FL - Phil Bagley of Klub Sport Racing announced today that the Bruce Jennings 1969 911S #77 vintage race car will be on display this coming weekend March 12-14 at the 15th Annual Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance in Amelia Island (Jacksonville, FL). The importance of this particular vehicle cannot be underestimated as this was the last private racer that Bruce Jennings developed and campaigned throughout the eastern United States. It was purchased in 1970 from the factory (rumored to be a backup car for the Monte Carlo Rally). It first started life as a 1969 2.0-liter 911S. As Jennings continued to race through the years, the car was developed into a 2.5-liter 911ST style race car. With its 2.5-liter motor and 8-inch and 10-inch wheels, Jennings enjoyed many consecutive starts at Sebring, and went on to race in Trans-Am, IMSA and SCCA. |

Klub Sport Racing celebrated a milestone |
Klub Sport Racing celebrated a milestone Sunday, May 18, 2008. This was the last event, an SCCA Regional Race which ran at the old Moroso Motorsports Park here in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Cody Ellsworth who is Bruce Ellsworth’s 16 year old son led every lap of the Vintage Class race to stand on the top of the podium in First Place and was presented the final Checkered Flag by Aaron Weiss. Pictured are from left to right, Bruce Ellsworth, Klub Sport Owner, Cody Ellsworth and Aaron Weiss, Track Manager. The track was opened in 1965 and Dick Moroso purchased the track from Dave Rupp in 1981. And in 1981, the name of the track changed from Palm Beach International Raceway to Moroso. On Monday morning, May 19, 2008 the revitalization of Moroso started. A complete new road course and a new drag strip; all to be reopened in October 2008. We all look forward to getting back to our local track. |

June Events |
In June there are two major historic events. The Historic Sportscar Racing Watkins Glen Historic Races and the Sports Car Vintage Association Mid-Ohio Vintage Grand Prix. Both events are fairly large events and should be well attended. Round four of the Klub Sport Challenge will be held at the Watkins Glen Historic Races. |
